3The bare essentials  Dec 29, 2004 By Amica Ecclesiae "chibibarako"
I have seen this edition of the St Joseph Weekday Missal, and I own an earlier edition. Both suffer from a bad case of Vatican II cute, and the paperback binding with vinyl slipcover does not stand up well to routine use (such as a *daily* Missal would receive!) If the volume is available in hardcover, I recommend the splurge. The Ordinary of the Mass -- the parts that don't change -- is in one section set off by colored page-edges, while the Propers of the Mass -- the prayers and readings that change -- are first in chronological order, then followed by votive Masses for various needs. This leads to the need for at least two and preferably three ribbons, and a lot of flipping around. The "hymnal" included -- at least in the earlier edition -- was useless.

3Not Quite As Advertised  Sep 23, 2005 By Aine
This Missal touts itself as being so easy to use but until you really get into the pattern of it, it isn't. I also have come to realize that the individual celebrant has a lot of flexibility in what readings, prefaces, etc. are used on any given day so unless your parish publishes a list for the week you can be very mislead. I highly recommend an online subscription (free) to Catholic Calendar. It helps a lot. I also agree with the other reviewer that the vinyl cover rolls and is flimsy.

3OUTDATED  Dec 29, 2008 By review
Unfortunately the readings have been updated in recent years by the Church and therefore this and the other, blue, weekday Mass book are OUTDATED.

I really hope that they will update their books, since it is easier to manage when the weekday Masses are separated into 2 books rather then one very large book.

3A great way to follow the lectionary.....  Apr 12, 2010 By Diakonos "Diakonos"
I own the older edition of the entire set of three missals. Frankly, since the seasonal antiphons, etc. are fluid in the Mass and depend upon the celebrant, the greatest value these books have is in providing a GREAT way to follow the lectionary readings. These are truly a good, inexpensive way to do a lectionary based Bible study. Even if you can't attend Mass every day, you can follow the lectionary and make wonderful biblical sense of the liturgical year as the Church would have you do.

5Catholic Weekday Missal  Jul 29, 2010 By B. Deakins
The Missal is full of information and is easy to use as a daily worship instrument.
