Prove it! Jesus (Prove it) Nov 05, 2006 Truly great. An excellent resource for parents, educators, in addition to the target audience, high school teens. Gets inside the head of that group, and answers lots of tough questions that they'll ask Buy this one, you'll not regret it. All Faiths, not just Catholics or Protestants will benefit.

Good for middle school kids up to adults Aug 27, 2006 My family purchased this book, along with the "Prove It! God" and "Prove It! Prayer" during the summer. I find this one to be particularly good, especially in her selection of quotes from sources ranging from the Bible to C.S. Lewis to Mother Teresa. The style of the writing is geared to teens, but the author is very direct, pulls no punches, and doesn't attempt to water down the truth of the faith and of Jesus's teachings. Many authors of adult books would be well-served to consider the effectiveness of books like these.
While published by Our Sunday Visitor, and intended primarily for Catholic teens, the book really is suitable for nearly all Christians. Other than a short mention in the belief that Jesus had no siblings and a mild criticism of denominations that are overly concerned with the end times, there is nothing that any Christian should disagree with and no reason that all Christians could not read, enjoy, and learn from this book. Buy it!

Outstanding apologetics, not just for teens Mar 30, 2006 My teen gobbled up the books in this series. I'm twice his age and enjoyed it, also. Other teens have borrowed the books from us and have found them useful in defending the Catholic faith to Christians of other denominations. Unlike the previous reviewer, I do not see the title as asking the Lord to "Prove It!", rather I see the title as what our teens commonly hear from others when it comes to our faith. These books give teens (and adults for that matter) the knowledge to defend the Catholic faith and "Prove It!"

Prove It! Series Is Great Tool for Teen Apologetics Dec 09, 2003 Amy Welborn's nine years of teaching high school theology show through on every page. She has a great ear for the "sass" of adolescent conversation. Her question in the first book (Prove It! God) reveals the goal of the whole series: "Isn't it awful to be asked to explain something you know is true, but just can't explain?" She takes teen readers from an emotional understanding of their faith to something deeper. Tapping into the angst we all remember so well from that age, she reassures them that challenges to the faith are nothing new. She instills great confidence that thoughful responses have been part of traditional Christianity (and especially Catholicism) for centuries. With amazing clarity and Ms. Welborn's trademark sense of humor, "Prove It! Jesus" examines all the major issues: the basic facts about Jesus and his teaching, the Incarnation, Crucifixion and Resurrection, Jesus' divinity, and finally "What It Means For Me Today". Ms. Welborn wraps up each chapter with a 2 - 3 paragraph recap of key points. The series ought to be in every high school religion course; it moves students beyond the undemanding "feelgood" approach by introducing them to an intellectual appreciation of their faith. All the books in this series carry the "Nihil Obstat" and "Imprimatur."
