A real page turner! Aug 24, 2010
Once I started Father Calloways book I couldn't put it down. It is so amazing that God could turn someones life around so drastically. I will be sharing this book with all my friends especially those that are struggling. I have the opportunity to go into our local jail and will certainly be recommending the gals I come into contact with to read Fathers book. In fact I will get an extra copy for the jail library.
Thank you for sharing a story of pure hope and mercy!

 A great story, but poorly written Aug 16, 2010
This is a great conversion story by Fr. Calloway, but it is poorly written. I felt no connection to Father or anyone else in his book, it read like a police report - all facts, very little emotion or insight. Its sad, because I have seen Fr. Calloway talk and give interviews, and he is a very engaging and personable priest. God bless his mission, and I hope he gets better assistance with his next book!
what a great treasure for the Catholic faith Aug 15, 2010
I bought this book yesterday on my pilgrimage to the National Divine Mercy Shrine in Stockbridge, MA and I started reading it on the bus ride back to NYC, thankful to finish reading this morning. It is such an inspiration to know of God's love and mercy to all of us, sinners in many different ways. I have always been Catholic from the day I was born but there are so many things about my faith that I still do not know. It was only during the past few years of my adult life that I have begun to discover these riches of my Catholic faith, although I am grateful to the Dominican sisters in my high school years who educated me about the basics of our faith and lovingly prayed the Rosary with us everyday. Whether we are old or new to the faith, most times we forget that God is very loving and merciful. Sometimes we feel that our sins are too big to be forgiven. We commit the same sins over and over again. We think of ourselves as unworthy of His love. Yes, we are so unworthy. But God has already made himself available to us- the Divine Mercy. We first need to get on our knees and call on Him, and we need to strive to live a life pleasing to Him. The life of Fr. Donald, as vividly recounted in this book, is a testimony of how great God's love is, even to the hardest of hearts. We need to pray for more priests like Fr. Donald, who are bold witnesses to the one true faith. God bless.
Amazing conversion story! Aug 03, 2010
Well, I'm not sure how much good my leaving another 5 star review is going to be for this amazing conversion story but I just had to put in my 2 cents worth. It was too good not to participate in the reviews.
I found this true story to be very moving and encouraging. Whether you have a strong faith or not - you can't help to be moved by Fr. Donald's life experiences. As a mother of two boys that have turned away from their faith - I was able to relate to what his parents endured. My own boys don't have near the problems Fr. Donald had but they are still not living a faith filled life and that can be very frustrating for a mom. I also found his story to be very encouraging and gives me new hope that some day my boys will find their way back to the Lord. I hope that some day he will be speaking in my area so that I can hear his witness in person and perhaps get my boys to attend also - God willing.

Believe It Or Not! Aug 01, 2010
A very cool book! Fr. Don Calloway, the surfer priest, is really a walking miracle. He was a teen so deep into sex, drugs, rock & roll plus he was a fugitive from justice, that he seemed totally hopeless. He tells his high action story with discretion, humor and vitality. He had absolutely no faith or knowledge of God but he was actually touched by the Eternal. Thanks to his mother's prayers there was a real intervention from Heaven! You will actually come to believe that nothing is impossible with God. It is an incredible testimony! No one is hopeless! It is a book you won't be able to put down!
