4Attractive and Useful  Nov 20, 2005 By D. G. D. Davidson "www.scificatholic.com"
The Saint Joesph Sunday Missal is a compact and attractive product. In addition to the contents of each Sunday Mass, it comes with a few useful extras. It is printed in two colors with large text for responses to encourage and ease active participation. A calendar leads the reader to the prayers and readings for each day, at least until 2014. Full-color icons are printed throughout and full-color inserts of the Mysteries of the Holy Rosary and the Stations of the Cross are included. The readings for each day are printed in full and illustrated with small black-and-white icons highlighting the day's themes. In addition, brief commentaries by Rev. John C. Kersten on each Sunday and each reading are included, as are an overview of the Catechism and a treasury of prayers.

There is little to criticize, though the Catechism overview is too brief to be especially useful. The Stations and Mysteries are printed twice, once in full color and once in two-tone, which is unnecessary.

At first a little confusing to navigate, the missal is nonetheless excellent.

5St. Joseph's Sunday Missal  Mar 08, 2007 By S. Harrison
I love the Sunday Missal. It's very easy to read and allowes me to read the lesson before Sunday. It's just the right size to carry in some of my purses and take to Mass to follow along with the readings. The zipper keeps it from getting soiled. I would highly recommend it if you like to follow the Sunday Mass.

5A necessity for a new Catholic.  Apr 25, 2008 By Charles Foster
I recently became a Catholic and started attending Mass. The Missal provides an outline of the service as well as instructions on standing, kneeling, and sitting. For those coming back to the faith, this book will be a great help. The pages have gold, zipped up in a nice leather cover. If you need a missal, purchase this one.

1Large Print - not so  Apr 06, 2007 By D. Svoboda
Beautiful cover and nice size. BUT I ordered this missal for my 80-year-old dad, primarily because of the "Large Print" description which was his request. Of the almost 1600 pages in the missal, the first 71 pages are in a slightly larger font - but none would qualify as "Large Print." I am very disappointed and I question whether or not my dad will be able to use the missal.

5WAIT FOR OCTOBER 2011 EDITION  Sep 01, 2011 By Washingtonian
I have the current edition and find it an excellent guide to the Mass, readings and many other aspects of our faith. A great help for those wanting to come back to The Church and those interested in it. A great help with historical comments and observations on each reading.

The new 2012 edition starts with Advent 2011. It should be out in October 2011.

Make sure you are ordering the new 2011-2012 edition.
