5The life and work of twenty great teachers of Torah  Sep 02, 2011 By Shalom Freedman "Shalom Freedman"
This book contains interviews with twenty great teachers of Torah. In each interview they speak about their own life - work, and their conception of the service of God. Most of the teachers interviewed are rabbis, but two of the most remarkable teachers have no such formal designation. Yaakov Fogelman who for many years has put out his own Torah sheet on the weekly Parsha, and the late Dovid Mayim Chayim David Hillel Hertzberg are two such teachers. Both of these great teachers 'lived their teaching' and practiced the Torah they long preached to others. With Yaakov it has been the Torah of Religious Zionism, and for Dovid it was more than anything the effort to be in simhah and greet every other human being with kindness and love. These are just two of the remarkable stories told in this series of interviews. I as the person who conducted these interviews considered it a great privilege to be able to speak with those so much deeper in Torah learning than myself. I think that anyone who is really interested in Judaism will find in this work thoughts and experiences that are helpful and inspiring.
